Hearing those BELLS!

It’s been a while since I’ve updated, mostly because the past few weeks have been a WHIRLWIND, to say the least!!

The biggest news since my last post – Nathan and I got ENGAGED!!!!

It was on June 6, and I had invited him to be my guest for a dinner that my work was hosting at the Mellon Auditorium.  After the dinner, we walked through the monuments, which were all lit up at night.  We stopped by the World War II memorial, and started to walk back to my car, and then he stopped and pulled out a ring!!!  I was surprised but VERY excited.  I couldn’t wait to tell everyone!!

As you can imagine, things have been a little… crazy… since then.  He is still stationed in Hawaii and I have a horse, so moving there right now is a little bit too far-fetched.  Also, it is insanely difficult to plan a legitimate wedding while working with the ARMY.  They have some crazy schedules and don’t exactly allow for very much flexibility!!  I’m pretty sure we’re set on a December date, since he will be home for sure at that time.  Time to start all the planning!!

Unfortunately I had to drop him off to catch a flight back to Oahu on the 10th, which happened to be 3 days before my birthday.  What a bummer that was!  I was still able to have a decent 25th.. which I told everyone was going to be the last birthday I want to celebrate.. all downhill from here… haha

ALSO, speaking of wedding bells, this past weekend I was able to celebrate with my oldest friend as she was married to a guy she had met in high school.  It was a beautiful wedding and everyone was in great cheer.  They picked a PERFECT location for the reception, and I was so happy to see them together!!! Of course, now I’ve started thinking about some ideas for my big day 😀
