Race Report: Riverbluff Olympic Triathlon – Ashland City, TN

I’m about five hours post-race at this point, and the post-race stiffness and soreness has begun! All a good sign of a legit, hard, gritty race. The Riverbluff Triathlon is located in Ashland City, Tennessee, at Riverbluff Park. The park itself is gorgeous- there is a nice playground, lots of picnic tables, and a good spot for a boat launch (this is where the open water swim starts).  It is…

Product I Love – SCOUT

91st Annual Chincoteague Pony Swim

On July 26, 2016, my mom, my daughter and I made the drive to Chincoteague Island on Virginia’s Eastern Shore. This was a trip we had always wanted to do, but for whatever reason the timing was never right.  I noticed an advertisement for the swim on Facebook, and booked a hotel that day (a couple months prior). We ended up staying at the Fairfield Inn & Suites at Chincoteague…

Happy Independence Day!

This year, HM and I went to Fort Campbell for their carnival, band and fireworks show.  They had a lot of carnival rides, but only two HM could ride.  She was JUST below the 32″ height requirement line.  I did buy a page of tickets, but only used half.  We enjoyed the carnival food – shared a piece of pizza, drank too much lemonade, and I snuck a bag of…

(3rd) of July in Tennessee

Wow.  Tennesseans just LOVE their fireworks!! This was our first year experiencing the crazy that is Independence Day weekend in Tennessee. I don’t think anything is off limits here, so you can only imagine the amazing-ness that is dusk here – combine that with the fact this is a military town (and naturally they love to blow things up!) and you have quite the show. The fireworks in our neighborhood…

My…
