Today was our day off before we start the next set of camps (Mnkhupa from Monday to Wednesday and Namitete from Thursday to Saturday). The group went hiking, but I stayed home with one of our coordinators, Catherine, to just hang out and recover. I went outside earlier to sit by the pool and almost fried myself just sitting out there, so I’m even more glad I didn’t go hiking! I think later today we’re going to try and go to the fabric market where they make things for you and then most of us are going to a church in Lilongwe with one of our translators, Humphries. It should be interesting!
Night update:
We didn’t end up going to a fabric market, instead a few of us went to this PizzaInn. It was AWESOME. There were seven of us, and we all got pizzas and cheese bread with Cokes. It tasted like home, and we were in a food coma on the way home. After dinner, we ended up going to a church that some of our translators go to. We were really impressed at how musical our translators were!! The service was a lot like home and only lasted an hour, but was really hard to hear because it was POURING outside and they had a tin roof. Camp 2 tomorrow morning!
