Wow. Tennesseans just LOVE their fireworks!! This was our first year experiencing the crazy that is Independence Day weekend in Tennessee. I don’t think anything is off limits here, so you can only imagine the amazing-ness that is dusk here – combine that with the fact this is a military town (and naturally they love to blow things up!) and you have quite the show.
The fireworks in our neighborhood started Friday, July 1st, and I was THAT neighbor to make a comment on our neighborhood Facebook page about the explosions happening outside the little one’s window at 10pm. It may have been a weekend, but toddler moms don’t get to sleep in or take the day off. Of course, they obviously respected my note, because the next day they were at it again until I went to bed at 10.
So tonight, HM and I got to watch the show from our back deck. I kept her up since she was going to be woken up anyway, and I think she enjoyed it. I had bought her an ear protection headset, so that and a chocolate milk and she was good as gold 🙂
The loud pops made her jump, but overall she started mocking my “oohs” and “aahs.”
