UPDATE June 19, 2014 – Whitney is doing so well and we are so thankful for everyone’s support. She is continuing to progress through rehabilitation and will be for quite some time, but she is through with surgeries and recovering well. A traumatic brain injury means a long, long road, so she could definitely still use your prayers and donations. Her expenses are pretty astronomical, as you can imagine!

This past weekend (February 20, 2014) my cousin, Whitney Hardy, was hit by a car while jogging as she attempted to cross a street in Boston, MA. She suffered multiple fractures in her face and leg and numerous other injuries- the worst being a severe traumatic brain injury, though the eventual outcome is not yet known.
Whitney is an amazing person- honestly one of the most fun people to be around. She has always been incredibly athletic and because of that brings an unmatched energy to life. We are heartbroken but optimistic for her recovery, though it is going to be a long and challenging road for her.
We’re not asking for much- just prayers and good thoughts for her to recover from this tragic accident. You could tweet #fighthardy to share your support, wear green in honor of Whitney, or spread the word through your church. Everything matters.
If you’re interested in contributing monetarily to her recovery, there has been a fund set up by the very woman who held Whitney’s hand as they waited for the paramedics to arrive. The link to the fund is: www.giveforward.com/fundraiser/j524/-fighthardy
We love you Whitney, get better soon!!
